Netanyahu and Trump discussed plans to capture Hamas strongholds in Gaza
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump discussed plans to capture the remaining strongholds of the Palestinian Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip. This was reported on August 10 by the Ynet portal, citing a statement from the Office of the Prime Minister.
"They discussed Israel's plans to take control of the remaining Hamas strongholds in the Gaza Strip in order to end the war by freeing the hostages and defeating Hamas," the publication says.
It is noted that during the conversation, Netanyahu expressed gratitude to the American leader for his "unwavering support" from the very beginning of the conflict.
Netanyahu said on August 10 that the key problem in relations between the Jewish state and the Gaza Strip is the absence of a unified Palestinian state. At the same time, according to the Prime Minister, the Palestinians "were offered many times to create a state," but they refused.
On the same day, Russia strongly condemned Israel's plans to seize Gaza at the United Nations Security Council (UN).
Thousands of people protested in Tel Aviv on August 9 against the Israeli Prime Minister's plan to seize the Gaza Strip.
