Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday, August 10, revealed five points, the implementation of which is necessary to end the conflict in the Gaza Strip.

"The five principles for ending the war: first, the disarmament of Hamas. Secondly, the release of hostages. Third, the demilitarization of Gaza. Fourth, Israel exercises full control over security. And fifth, [we need] a non—Israeli peaceful civilian administration," he said during a press conference broadcast on YouTube.

Netanyahu also added that Israel will bear the primary responsibility for ensuring security.

Earlier, on July 17, Axios journalist Barak Ravid reported that Qatar, Egypt and the United States had submitted an updated proposal to Israel and Hamas to resolve the situation in the Gaza Strip. In his opinion, the mediators believe that Tel Aviv's recent concessions may contribute to the conclusion of an agreement between the conflicting parties.

Prior to that, on July 6, the Financial Times newspaper reported that serious negotiations to end the conflict in the Gaza Strip would begin on the first day of the truce. It was clarified that the mediators will also provide guarantees for the extension of the truce if it takes more time to conclude a deal on the final conclusion of the conflict.
