The Kalashnikov Concern presented on Sunday, August 10, the latest AK-15K and AK-15SK assault rifles. According to Sergey Urzhumtsev, the chief designer of the concern, countries from Africa, Asia and Latin America are showing interest in these machines.

"These are countries in Africa, Asia, and partly Latin America. In general, the list of countries is clear. Traditionally, where we sent the machines were the 103rd, 203rd, and so on," Urzhumtsev said, as quoted by TASS.

In addition to the assault rifles, the concern presented a 7.62 mm hand-held machine gun with a ribbon-powered RPL-7 and new samples of an all-season VKPO 3.2 field uniform kit from the Novator kit. Urzhumtsev said that the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation has already formed a state defense order for upgraded weapons.

"The Ministry of Defense, including for the 7.62 mm caliber, has identified a certain interest and has formed an order within the framework of the state contract, which should be completed this year," concluded the Kalashnikov General designer.

On June 5, the Kalashnikov Design and Technology Center (KTC) announced the update of the PPK-20 Kalashnikov submachine gun. The main purpose of the changes was to improve the tactical, technical and ergonomic characteristics of the submachine gun, as well as to increase its manufacturability. In particular, the changes expanded the range of ammunition intended for the PPK-20.
