Mother killed two children and committed suicide in Yekaterinburg

In Yekaterinburg, a mother killed two children born in 2016 and 2022, after which she committed suicide. This was announced on Sunday, August 10, by the regional directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

"According to preliminary investigation data, the woman committed the murder of her children, after which she committed suicide," the department wrote on its Telegram channel.

It is specified that the grandmother found the bodies of the victims. A criminal case has been opened into the incident under Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Murder of two or more persons, including minors").

"When the grandmother opened the apartment with her keys, the police officers saw a terrible picture, as if from a horror movie: the murdered babies were lying on a child's bed, and their mother's body was in the kitchen, on the floor," Valery Gorelykh, head of the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Sverdlovsk region, told Izvestia.

The deceased worked as a doctor. Her son moved to the third grade, and her daughter went to kindergarten.

On June 25, in the Sverdlovsk region, a mother killed a newborn baby and went on the run. A criminal case has been opened into the murder of a minor. It was clarified that the girl's mother threw her on the sofa, as a result of which the child died from a traumatic brain injury. After the incident, the woman fled the scene of the crime, but was soon arrested.
