The identity of the commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) involved in the shelling of the population in the Belgorod region has been established. This was reported on August 10 in the press service of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.

"A criminal case has been opened against the commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant Colonel Vitaly Nashchubsky, suspected of committing a terrorist act in the Shebekinsky district of the Belgorod region (paragraphs "a" and "b" of Part 3 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation)," the publication says in the Telegram channel.

According to the investigation, from February 17 to March 4, 2023, Nashchubsky organized a series of attacks in the Shebekinsky district of the Belgorod region. He gave orders for mortar attacks and bombings of residential buildings, civilian infrastructure and transport. As a result, civilians were injured and social facilities were destroyed.

On April 12, investigators charged three Ukrainian soldiers who shelled the village of Olgovka in the Kursk region. It is specified that the defendants illegally invaded the territory of Russia.
