The State Duma named the average pension size in the country for Russians
Currently, the average pension in the Russian Federation is about 23.5 thousand rubles. Alexey Govyrin, a State Duma deputy from the United Russia faction, told about this on August 10.
"The average pension in Russia today is 23,448 rubles per month. This amount consists of two components: pension points and a fixed payment. Each year of work can bring up to 10 points, and the cost of one point in 2025 is 145.69 rubles," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
The parliamentarian explained that the total amount of points earned by the pensioner is then multiplied by the cost indicator, after which a fixed payment of 8,907.70 rubles is added to it. The final payout amount is formed from these calculations.
"The final value is influenced by the length of official service and the amount of contributions to the Social Fund, because additional points are awarded for each year of work," he said.
In addition, residents of the Far North and areas equated to it receive allowances. In addition, payments to pensioners for disability or loss of breadwinner are calculated according to separate rules.
On August 7, it became known that in Russia, as of July 1, 2025, the number of pensioners was almost 41 million people. It is specified that at the same time, 7.6 million Russian pensioners continue to work. 2.3 million people receive a disability pension in the Russian Federation, and almost 1.45 million are considered recipients of survivor's benefits.
Earlier, on August 2, Govyrin said that in 2025, unemployed citizens will receive a pension of at least 15 thousand rubles in connection with the appointment of a federal social supplement. He stressed that the state provides comprehensive support to all its senior citizens.
