Balloon pilots to take part in the Sky of Russia Festival in Ryazan

The Sky of Russia Festival is taking place in Ryazan from 3 to 11 August. Balloon pilots will take part in the competition, where they will be able to demonstrate their skills and compete for the Russian Cup in Aeronautical Sports.

Izvestia correspondent Andrey Titov visited the take-off site, where balloons are being prepared and filled for flight. According to him, one balloon holds 2 thousand cubic meters of air, which is then heated using a burner. Thanks to this, the balloon rises into the sky.

"We are still floating above the ground, above the field, above the sunflowers. The balloon can afford such a low passage over the ground," said the pilot of the balloon Vasily Kotchenko.

Kotchenko is one of the participants of the competition. According to him, this is his first time in Ryazan, and during the flight he enjoyed the views of the region.

There is also a cultural program at the festival. Participants of the competition and visitors can attend a concert or master classes, attend a craft fair, enter the photo zone or the food court.

Earlier, on August 6, it was reported that the VKontakte Fandom Fest presented the 2025 program. The event will take place on November 22 and 23 in Moscow at the Main Stage. Singer and blogger from China Xing Kaizheng will perform on the main stage. The program includes concerts, autograph sessions with popular actors and authors, presentations of new films and exclusives from future premieres. For the first time, the VK Play space will open with a lecture hall, a game and a photo zone.
