The member states of the so-called "coalition of the willing" do not want to send their troops to Ukraine. This was reported on August 9 by The Sunday Times newspaper.

It is specified that, as an alternative, the participating countries intend to strengthen the military-industrial complex (MIC) of Ukraine. The expansion of such assistance may facilitate Kiev's production of its own long-range missiles.

As a British military official noted, this may be relevant in a situation where "no one wants to send their troops <...> to Ukraine."

Expanding the capabilities of the Ukrainian military-industrial complex may help reduce Kiev's dependence on other states for the use of weapons.

On August 9, French President Emmanuel Macron announced the need for the active participation of the European Union (EU) in the settlement in Ukraine. The French leader pointed out that Paris, Berlin and London "are determined to continue supporting Ukraine," for which they will rely on the results of the work done within the framework of the so-called "coalition of the willing."
