Almost two thirds of German residents expressed dissatisfaction with the federal government and Chancellor Friedrich Merz, who have been in power for 100 days. This was reported on August 9 by the Berliner Zeitung (BZ) newspaper with reference to the survey.

"Almost 100 days after the start of the coalition, the majority of citizens are dissatisfied with the federal government and Chancellor Friedrich Merz (leader of the Christian Democratic Union. — Ed.), <...> 60% opposed," the publication says.

It is noted that only 27% of respondents reported that they were satisfied with Merz's actions.

According to a survey in June, the number of people satisfied with Merz's government was 37%, while less than half were dissatisfied.

Earlier, on July 13, it was reported that German Chancellor Friedrich Merz from the alliance of the Christian Democratic Union and the Christian Social Union (CDU/CSU) began to experience a crisis just two months after starting work. The split between the ruling parties of Germany occurred due to the candidacy of Frauke Brosius-Gersdorf for the post of head of the Constitutional Court of Germany. It was clarified that the elections had been canceled.
