Russian winners of the AI Olympiad in China were welcomed at Sheremetyevo
The Russian participants who won medals during the International Olympiad on Artificial Intelligence (IOAI) in China returned to Moscow. At Sheremetyevo Airport on August 9, footage from which is published by Izvestia, they were warmly greeted by a support team with posters listing the names of the winners.
All the young people came out to those waiting for them with medals on their chests. Andrey Khlopotnykh, who won the award of the highest dignity, clarified that Russia took second place in the team competition.
"It's great, we didn't know the results until the last one, we were worried, but it turned out great. The competition was strong, and there were strong Asian countries, such as China, Singapore, and Poland, which performed very strongly. It wasn't easy, but we managed," he said in an interview with a correspondent of Izvestia.
The Russian team won six gold, one silver and one bronze medals at the International Olympiad on Artificial Intelligence (IOAI) among high school students. This is the best result in terms of the number of gold medals among all participants, the Central University, which trained the team together with the Alliance in the Field of Artificial Intelligence and the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT), reported on August 8. The Olympiad was held in China from 2 to 8 August with the support of UNESCO.
