An earthquake of magnitude 6.0 was recorded near the Kuril Islands. This was announced by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC).
The seismic event occurred at 17:04 Moscow time, 267 km south-east of the city of Severo-Kurilsk.
It is specified that the earthquake was located at a depth of 10 km.
On July 30, a powerful earthquake of magnitude 8.7 occurred in the Kamchatka Territory. A tsunami threat was declared on the coast of the Avacha Bay. Emergency regimes were introduced in the North Kuril region of the Sakhalin Region and in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. According to the Ministry of Health of the Kamchatka Territory, one person was injured in the region, his condition is satisfactory.
On August 3, 10 significant earthquakes were recorded in Kamchatka, and more than 65 earthquakes occurred in just one day.
