An earthquake of magnitude 6.0 was recorded near the Kuril Islands. This was announced by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC).

The seismic event occurred at 17:04 Moscow time, 267 km south-east of the city of Severo-Kurilsk.

It is specified that the earthquake was located at a depth of 10 km.

According to the Ministry of Health of the Kamchatka Territory, one person was injured in the region, his condition is satisfactory.

On August 3, 10 significant earthquakes were recorded in Kamchatka, and more than 65 earthquakes occurred in just one day. On August 4, the situation repeated itself: seven significant earthquakes occurred during the day, and more than 85 earthquakes occurred during the day. On August 9, it was reported that 43 aftershocks were recorded in the Kamchatka Territory after the earthquake.
