A criminal case has been opened into the collapse of a mine in the Rostov region.
The Investigative Committee (IC) in the Rostov region has opened a criminal case in connection with the collapse of the roof of the rock in the Sherlovskaya-Oblique mine. The press service of the department announced this on August 9 in its Telegram channel.
"A criminal case has been opened on this fact [of the collapse] on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Article 217 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of industrial safety requirements for hazardous production facilities, resulting in the death of a person by negligence)," the report says.
