Rescuers evacuated two people and brought to the surface the body of the deceased from a mine in the Rostov region. This was announced on August 9 by the Main Directorate (GU) of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in the region.

Earlier in the day, a rock roof collapsed at the Sherlovskaya-Oblique mine in the Krasnosulinsky district of the Rostov Region, killing one person. The collapse occurred at a depth of about 500 m. The mine is currently operating normally.
