A sports march dedicated to the Day of the Physical Education Student took place on the Central Alley of the VDNH Exhibition Complex in Moscow. The event ended on August 9 at 3 p.m. at the historical park "Russia — my History" (pavilion No. 57).

As Ekaterina Leshchinskaya, chairman of the all-Russian public movement "Healthy Fatherland", noted, this year the march has reached an all-Russian scale.

"All districts of the Russian Federation and leaders of public opinion joined us. <...> Today, more than 3 thousand participants attended VDNH — famous athletes, Olympic champions, world champions — our heroes, heroes of our time," Leshchinskaya said.

The event was attended by Olympic and Paralympic champions, holders of TRP badges ("Ready for work and defense"), as well as sports families, participants in a special military operation (SVO) and active elderly people. Among the famous athletes, two-time Olympic fencing champion Yana Yegoryan, Olympic silver medalist in figure skating Alexander Enbert and others participated in it.

Celebrations were also organized in St. Petersburg, Rostov-on-Don, Nizhny Novgorod, Makhachkala, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk and Vladivostok.

Earlier in the day, Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated Russian athletes and workers in the field of physical education on the Day of Physical Education, noting the importance of sports as a tradition of Russian society. He stated that the holiday has long become a national one, and unites not only professional athletes, but also adherents of physical activity and a healthy lifestyle, regardless of generation or occupation.
