Employers can be fined 50,000 rubles for depriving an employee of a bonus.
Employers who unlawfully deprived an employee of a bonus can be fined up to 50,000 rubles for non-payment of wages. This was announced on August 9 by Evgeny Masharov, a member of the commission of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation.
"If it turns out that the employer unlawfully deprived the employee of the bonus, he may be brought to administrative responsibility <...> For officials, the fine ranges from 10 thousand to 20 thousand rubles, for persons engaged in business activities without forming a legal entity - from 1 thousand to 5 thousand rubles, for legal entities - from 30 thousands to 50 thousand rubles," TASS quoted him as saying.
He clarified that employees who believe that they have been unlawfully deprived of their bonus can file a complaint with their employer, contact the labor inspectorate, or file a claim with the court. Masharov also noted that the conditions for the withdrawal of the award should be fixed in the internal regulatory act of the organization.
In addition, amendments to the Labor Code will come into force on September 1, limiting the arbitrary reduction of employee bonuses. According to the new regulations, the reduction in bonuses should not exceed 20% of the salary.
