The Yalta Nature Reserve in Crimea was engulfed by fire, the preliminary fire area is currently 2 hectares, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations reported on August 9.
"Previously, the fire covered 2 hectares. In total, about 150 specialists and 41 pieces of equipment are working on site, including two helicopters," the department's Telegram channel says.
It is noted that the rescue aviation forces have already dropped 30 tons of water. The ground group extinguishes fires using knapsack fire extinguishers and firecrackers.
"The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations is increasing the grouping of forces and means to extinguish a fire in the Crimea," the message adds.
On July 29, the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Krasnodar Territory reported a forest fire near the village of Kabardinka in Gelendzhik, its area was 9 hectares. 46 people and 11 pieces of equipment, including an Mi-8 helicopter, were involved in extinguishing the fire. Volunteers also helped to eliminate the fire.
