- Slyusar: emergency mode introduced in Rostov-on-Don after explosion in apartment building
An emergency situation regime has been introduced in Rostov-on-Don after an explosion in a 20-storey apartment building. This was announced on Saturday, August 9, by the acting governor of the Rostov region, Yuri Slyusar.
"According to the preliminary assessment of experts, two apartments in the high-rise building were damaged, as well as glazing in windows from the 15th to the 20th floors. They decided to enter an emergency mode locally," Slyusar wrote on his Telegram channel.
The developer promised to complete the restoration of glazing and common areas in the affected houses by August 15, and facade work in a week. Slyusar also stressed the need for the prompt work of the municipal commission to fix the damage in order to provide residents with lump-sum payments without delay.
The day before, it was reported that in Rostov-on-Don, as a result of an attack by an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), an explosion and subsequent fire occurred in a multi-storey apartment building. It was clarified that, according to preliminary information, there were no dead or injured.
