People's Artist of Russia Ivan Krasko has died.
People's Artist of Russia Ivan Krasko died at the age of 95. This was announced by deputy of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg Alexander Rzhanenkov in his Telegram channel.
"For millions, he was a beloved actor, a voice that we recognized from the first words, a face that entire generations grew up with. For me, Ivan Ivanovich was a friend. Real, rare, without falsehood," said Alexander Rzhanenkov.
Ivan Krasko was born on September 23, 1930 in the village of Vartemyagi, Leningrad region. He graduated from the 1st Baltic Higher Naval School, and then commanded a landing ship in the Danube River Flotilla. In 1961, he graduated from the Leningrad Theater Institute and became an actor at the Leningrad Academic and Bolshoi Drama Theaters. He made his film debut in the same year, playing a cameo role in the film Baltic Sky.
Krasko became known for his roles in films such as "Mr. Decorator", "Peculiarities of national hunting in winter" and many others. He starred in more than 200 feature films and TV series, and also participated in the dubbing of cartoons, including the king in "Dwarf Nose" and Svyatogor in "Alyosha Popovich and Tugarin the Snake."
