A sports march dedicated to the Day of the Physical Education student was held in Novosibirsk

A sports march organized by the All-Russian public movement "Healthy Fatherland" and dedicated to the Day of the Physical Education Student took place in Novosibirsk on August 9. The footage of the event is published by Izvestia.

Athletes, physical education teachers, coaches, as well as residents of the city of different age categories took part in the march. After that, those who wished could participate in sports competitions.

"Today we are celebrating the Day of Physical Education together. Great atmosphere, lots of contests, everyone in a good mood. The day is going as well as possible," hockey coach Mikhail Pozhidaev shared his impressions.

Mikhail Zharnakov, who is engaged in Greco-Roman wrestling, in turn, called the event very good and noted that such a procession should not be missed.

"We like to participate, make demonstrations for people, so that people would rejoice, take an example of some kind," the athlete said.

In addition to Novosibirsk, marches are also taking place in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Rostov-on-Don, Makhachkala, Nizhny Novgorod, Yekaterinburg, Vladivostok.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, during a meeting with members of the government on July 23, supported the proposal to exempt payments to participants of the Zemsky Trainer program from taxation. According to Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko, the need for trainers in rural areas now stands at about 3,000 people. In his opinion, to improve the situation, "zemstvo coaches" should be exempt from tax on payments by analogy with other zemstvo programs.

Physical Education Student's Day is celebrated annually on the second Saturday of August. This holiday has been celebrated in the country since 1939, based on the well—known slogan "In a healthy body, a healthy mind."
