William Webster, the only person who headed both the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), has died at the age of 101. This was reported on Saturday, August 9, by Bloomberg, citing a statement from the family.

According to Webster's relatives, the man "has spent his entire life fighting to protect his country and its precious rule of law." He was known for his unwavering honesty and professionalism, which helped him restore the reputation of the FBI and the CIA after the scandals.

Webster was appointed a federal judge by President Richard Nixon, FBI Director Jimmy Carter, and CIA Director Ronald Reagan. George H. W. Bush left him as head of the CIA.

The publication clarified that throughout his career, Webster preferred to be addressed as a "judge."
