A criminal case has been opened on the fact of a gas-air mixture explosion at an enterprise in Sterlitamak. This was reported on August 9 in the press service of the investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Republic of Bashkortostan.
"A criminal case has been opened on violation of industrial safety requirements for hazardous production facilities (Part 1 of Article 217 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation)," the department said.
It is noted that 36 victims are currently known. According to the ministry, 22 people were hospitalized.
