A farewell ceremony for Vladimir Safronov, People's Artist of Russia, is taking place in Moscow. Footage from the ceremony on August 9 is published by Izvestia.
The ceremony takes place in the building of the historical stage of the Maly Theater, in the Shchepkin foyer.
Relatives, friends, colleagues, and fans of his work came to say goodbye to the artist. Those who came laid flowers at Safronov's coffin.
Safronov died on August 5 at the age of 84. In 1962, he graduated from the Shchepkin Theater School, and 10 years later, in 1972, he began working at the Maly Theater, where he played 60 roles throughout his career. In 2012, the artist began to run his own workshop at the school. In addition, he was awarded the medal of the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, II degree.
