Three Thai soldiers were injured by a landmine explosion while patrolling the border with Cambodia amid a fragile truce. This was reported on August 9 by the Reuters news agency, citing a statement from the Thai army.

According to the agency, one soldier lost a leg and two others were injured while patrolling the territory between the provinces of Sisaket in Thailand and Preahvikhea in Cambodia on the morning of August 9.

The soldiers are currently being treated at the hospital.

It is specified that this is the third such case in the last few weeks.

Earlier, on August 7, Thailand and Cambodia confirmed an agreement to resolve tensions on the border. Phnom Penh and Bangkok agreed to observe a ceasefire that applies to all types of weapons, as well as to deploy a temporary group of observers at the border, which will consist of the military of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

The escalation of the border conflict between Thailand and Cambodia occurred on July 23. The military of both sides accused each other of firing the first shots and attacked each other's territories several times. On July 28, Acting Thai Prime Minister Phum Tham Vechayachai and Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Maneta agreed to a ceasefire during talks in Kuala Lumpur.
