President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has changed his position on resolving the conflict in the country. This was reported by Bloomberg on August 9.

"The Ukrainian leader had previously stated that he was not ready to cede any territory to Ukraine, while demanding that Russia withdraw its troops and pay reparations. <...> But on Friday [US President Donald] Trump stated that Zelensky is ready to work on concluding a deal," the publication says.

The agency claims that Zelensky risks facing a take-it-or-leave-it deal in order to accept the loss of Ukrainian territory. Kiev's allies also have many doubts about how any agreement can be implemented and what security guarantees Ukraine will receive, Bloomberg writes.

On the same day, CBS reported that Vladimir Zelensky may take part in a meeting between American leader Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, which will be held on August 15 in Alaska. The broadcaster added that the planning of the meeting is in an uncertain state and "anything is still possible."

A day earlier, The Telegraph newspaper reported that Zelensky acknowledged the impossibility of returning the lost territories by military means. In addition, according to the results of a survey conducted by the publication, only a quarter of Ukrainians want to continue fighting, which is evidence of a sharp decline in public faith in achieving victory.
