Two of the nine members of the terrorist cell uncovered in Moscow have been detained in Uzbekistan. This was reported on August 9 in the press center of the Republican State Security Service (SSS).

"Seven members of an international terrorist organization were detained in Russia, and two members of an international terrorist organization were detained in Uzbekistan," the agency's release says.

It is specified that they were detained during operational activities carried out by the State Security Service in the south of Uzbekistan.

It was established that, among other things, the defendants through the messenger were members of virtual groups with extremist ideology of international terrorist organizations (ITO). They also distributed materials that called for a violent change in the current political system, and the corresponding actions contradict the Constitution of Uzbekistan.

In addition, a search was conducted at the place of residence. Mobile phones, copies of extremist literature, two flash drives and a SIM card of a foreign operator were seized as evidence. The objects were sent for examination.

Earlier, on August 8, in Moscow, Russian FSB officers suppressed the activities of a cell of the MTO banned in Russia, which included nine foreign citizens. It was clarified that the attackers recruited migrant workers into a terrorist organization. It was also noted that they were coordinated by the ideologists of the ITO located in the territory of the European Union.
