- Summer residents were warned about criminal liability for planting a burial ground on the site
Growing 10 or more burial ground bushes in a suburban area will threaten the owner with criminal liability. This was reported by RIA Novosti on Saturday, August 9, with reference to a government document.
The burial ground, also called harmala vulgaris, was included in the list of plants containing narcotic or psychotropic substances. Growing plants from this list on a garden plot may result in a fine or imprisonment.
Thus, the cultivation of more than 10 plants is already considered major, and responsibility for this may amount to imprisonment for up to two years. And the cultivation of a burial ground in the amount of more than 100 plants will already lead to imprisonment for up to eight years.
Growing in small quantities — up to 10 plants — entails administrative responsibility and is fraught with a fine of 3 thousand to 5 thousand rubles or administrative arrest for up to 15 days for individuals. For legal entities, the amount of the fine will be more serious and will range from 100,000 to 300,000 rubles.
Earlier, on August 5, it was reported that in the village of Banevurovo, police seized 840 cannabis bushes at the site of a 57-year-old local resident. It was noted that 700 g of dried Manchurian cannabis was also found.
Before that, on July 22, 365 cannabis bushes were found in Khabarovsk from a local resident. A criminal case was opened into the crime. In relation to the suspect, a preventive measure was chosen in the form of a subscription not to leave and proper behavior.
