Gennady Gendin, the former vice-governor of the Samara Region, was charged with fraud on an especially large scale. This became known on August 9 after the publication of the case file on the official website of the courts of general jurisdiction in Moscow.

"He is accused of fraud, that is, theft of other people's property by deception, committed by an organized group on an especially large scale," the case documents say.

At the same time, according to the court, Gendin did not admit his guilt.

Earlier, on August 8, in Sakhalin, a bus driver was sentenced to 10 years in prison for embezzlement of 21 million rubles. According to the investigation, since July 2021, the accused passenger bus driver provided false information about the actual amount of work performed in order to receive subsidies to compensate for the cost of transporting beneficiaries. In the accounting documents, he intentionally overestimated the data directly affecting the calculation of the subsidy amount.
