The ash discharge to a height of more than 11.5 km occurred from the Klyuchevskaya volcano in Kamchatka. This was announced on August 9 by the press service of the Main Directorate (GU) of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation for the Kamchatka Territory in the Telegram channel.

"The ash plume is spreading in a northeasterly direction towards the Kamchatka Strait. The village of Ust—Kamchatsk is on the way of its spread. Ash fallout is not excluded there," the statement said.

It is specified that Klyuchevsky was assigned the "red" aviation hazard code.

In case of ash fallout, the department advised residents to stay indoors and not go outside unless necessary.

Ash was released to the same height at Klyuchevsky earlier, on August 7. It was noted that this was the second ash release in the morning of that day. The volcano was assigned a "red" aviation hazard code.
