The decision to hold a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump in Alaska is logical, since the countries are close neighbors. This was announced on August 9 by Russian Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov.

He also said that the economic interests of the states intersect in the region. There are prospects for joint projects in Alaska.

Representatives of Russia expect that the next meeting of the two leaders should take place on the territory of the Russian Federation, the presidential aide added.
