Aliyev and Pashinyan proposed nominating Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize

On August 8, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan proposed nominating US President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize.

"Prime Minister Pashinyan and I are ready to send a joint appeal to the Nobel Committee on awarding the Peace Prize to Donald Trump," Aliyev said in a conversation with reporters at the White House.

The leaders of the countries also noted that they would like to receive an invitation from Trump if the American leader does receive the award.

Earlier in the day, Pashinyan and Aliyev signed a declaration on the peaceful settlement of the conflict. In addition, the American side announced the lifting of restrictions on military cooperation with Azerbaijan. It is noted that during the meeting, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev agreed to end the confrontation and resume diplomatic relations.

On August 7, Cambodia nominated US President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize for his contribution to resolving the conflict with Thailand. The country's Prime Minister Hun Manet noted that in this way they expressed gratitude to Trump for his "initiative and support" in resolving the conflict.

On July 7, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced the nomination of US President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize during a meeting with the American leader at the White House. He noted that this is a "well-deserved" honor for Trump.

On June 20, Trump was also nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize by the Government of Pakistan. The initiative is related to the recognition of the merits of the American leader in resolving the conflict between Islamabad and New Delhi.

In November 2024, British politician Lord Michael Ashcroft announced Trump's dream of winning the Nobel Prize. Later, on January 21, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko announced that he would support Trump's nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize if the American president could keep his promise to end all existing conflicts.
