Rospotrebnadzor has requested information from the Turkish Ministry of Health about the mass poisoning of Russian tourists at the Club Hotel Anjeliq 5 in Alanya. This was announced on August 8 by the press service of the department.

"There have been reports in the media about the mass poisoning of Russian tourists at the Club Hotel Anjeliq 5* in Alanya. In this regard, Rospotrebnadzor requested data from the Turkish Ministry of Health within the framework of the current memorandum of cooperation on combating infections and protecting the health of tourists," the department's Telegram channel says.

It is clarified that Rospotrebnadzor has asked the Turkish authorities to provide official data on the results of the investigation and an assessment of the risk of possible deterioration of the epidemiological situation.

Requests were also sent through the channels established by WHO International Health Regulations and to the Association of Tour Operators (ATOR). The agency noted that the situation is under the control of Rospotrebnadzor.

On April 4, it was reported that almost 650 residents of the Turkish province of Kocali were hospitalized with poisoning after eating shawarma with chicken in one of the cafes of the Kerfez district. It was clarified that the patients had nausea, vomiting and fever. Of the 648 patients, almost all were sent for outpatient treatment, and two remained in hospitals.
