The State Traffic Inspectorate announced mass inspections of drivers on the roads

On Friday and next weekend, August 8-10, the State Traffic Inspectorate will conduct massive and continuous checks of drivers, special attention will be paid to identifying motorists driving under the influence of alcohol. The upcoming raids were announced by the regional departments of the department.

Traffic police will carry out preventive measures on roads in the Altai Republic, Omsk, Ivanovo, Samara, Kirov, Ryazan, Vologda, Kaluga, Ulyanovsk regions and other regions of the country.

On the eve of the weekend, the State Traffic Inspectorate reminds of the inadmissibility of driving under the influence of alcohol. Mass checks on the roads to identify drivers who have got behind the wheel in a state of intoxication are carried out by traffic police on an ongoing basis.

"We kindly ask citizens who have witnessed a driver getting behind the wheel in an inadequate condition, who by his actions threatens the safety of other road users, to report this to the police. Employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate will definitely take all necessary measures to respond to such reports," Police Colonel Anton Belan, deputy head of the propaganda department of the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Russian Interior Ministry, told Izvestia.

He recalled that driving under the influence of alcohol, as well as refusing a medical examination, entail the deprivation of a driver's license for a period of one and a half to two years and a heavy fine. In addition, in some cases, the driver faces criminal liability for these acts, the State Traffic Inspectorate emphasizes.

On the eve of August 7, it became known that next weekend the Moscow State Traffic Inspectorate will hold a preventive event "Motorcycle safety".
