The chairlift ended in the resort area of Nalchik. This was announced on August 8 by the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in Kabardino-Balkaria.

"Rescuers from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations and all emergency services immediately moved to the site. According to preliminary information, there are victims," the agency said in a message on its Telegram channel.

On August 5, a tourist suffered a head injury in a fall on the northeastern slope of Mount Belukha near the Mensu Glacier in the Altai Republic. An Mi-8 helicopter was used to evacuate him. The victim was taken on board, where he was assisted by staff from the Disaster Medicine Center.
