The body of a woman who drowned three days ago was found in the Shilka River in Transbaikalia.

In the city of Shilka (Trans-Baikal Territory), the body of a 44-year-old woman who drowned three days ago was found in the river of the same name. This was announced by the regional Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia on Friday, August 8.

"The search was conducted by rescuers of the fire and rescue unit No. 41, police officers and volunteers. The body of the deceased was discovered on August 8," the report says.

According to the ChitaMedia news agency, the tragedy occurred three days ago on Tuesday, August 5. A 44-year-old woman who was swimming near a water intake facility drowned in the Shilka River.

In Transbaikalia, this is the 19th tragic accident on the water since the beginning of the year. The Ministry of Emergency Situations notes that all the drowned went into the water in places not equipped for swimming.

On August 3, a 41-year-old man drowned in the Irkutsk region while rescuing his son who had fallen into the water. The Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case.
