The Oktyabrsky court of St. Petersburg has banned the distribution in Russia of three books by the Soviet intelligence defector Vladimir Rezun, known by the pseudonym Viktor Suvorov. This was announced on August 8 by Daria Lebedeva, head of the joint press service of the city courts.

We are talking about the following books: "Icebreaker. Who started the Second World War?", "Day M. When did the Second World War begin?" and "Purification. Why did Stalin behead his army?"

"The Oktyabrsky District Court of our city has banned the distribution of the above books through five links," Lebedeva wrote on her Telegram channel.

She noted that the publications contain signs of a deliberate influence on public opinion aimed at undermining patriotic traditions and eroding traditional values. The books also reinforce the negative image of the USSR and spread lies about the activities of Soviet government agencies and individual officials.

In addition, Viktor Suvorov's books deny the facts established by the Nuremberg Tribunal, contain false information about veterans of the Great Patriotic War, as well as identifying the USSR with Nazi Germany.

On May 15, Anatoly Norovyatkin, the director of distribution of the Eksmo publishing house, and about 10 other people were detained in Moscow as part of an investigation into a criminal case on extremism. Investigative actions are being carried out with them. The detainees face sentences of up to eight years in prison for LGBT propaganda (the movement is recognized as extremist and banned in Russia).

Later, the main investigative department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in the capital reported the detention of members of an extremist organization suspected of publishing and selling books promoting LGBT people. We are talking about three employees of Individuum Print LLC, who published and sold banned publications for selfish reasons. Their list was later provided by Eksmo.
