Four cases of tick-borne borreliosis were registered in the Murmansk region
In the Murmansk region, 39 people have suffered from tick bites since the beginning of the season. Four people were diagnosed with borreliosis, and one more patient was diagnosed with encephalitis.
According to the Bi-port news agency, the peak of pest activity has been passed. In the laboratory, experts examined 29 ticks taken from humans. Encephalitis antigen was detected in two ticks.
Despite the decrease in arachnid activity, residents of the Murmansk region were advised to be careful when going out into nature. The threat of tick bites will persist until the first frost.
In Russia, more than 484,000 people have been affected by tick bites since the beginning of the season. The largest number of bites was registered in the Sverdlovsk, Kemerovo, Kirov, Chelyabinsk and Tomsk regions.
