The Netherlands has cancelled the supply of naval equipment to Israel due to the deteriorating situation in the Gaza Strip. This was reported on August 8 by the Dutch News agency.

It is noted that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands has revoked three licenses for the export of components of warships to Israel. The country's foreign minister, Kaspar Weldkamp, called the move "unique."

A ministry spokesman clarified that the licenses were reviewed and cancelled last month "due to the deteriorating situation in the Gaza Strip" and "the risk of undesirable end-use." He also said that now it is "practically impossible" for the ministry to issue permits for weapons that can be used in the Gaza Strip or the West Bank.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that the German government was suspending the issuance of permits for the export of weapons to Israel that could be used in the Gaza Strip. As German Chancellor Friedrich Merz noted, Israel has the right to defend itself against the actions of the Palestinian Hamas movement, but the main priority is the release of hostages and targeted negotiations on a cease-fire.
