Vucic declared Serbia's non-interference in the affairs of BiH
The Serbian authorities do not interfere in the specific actions of the leadership of the Republika Srpska of Bosnia and Herzegovina (RF BiH) after the verdict of the court and the revocation by the CEC of the mandate of the President of the head of RS Milorad Dodik. This was announced on August 8 by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.
"We will all help preserve peace and stability so that people can plan for their future. And I hope that a way out of the severe crisis in which both RS and BiH are located will be found," Vucic said, as quoted by Kurir.
The Serbian leader noted that Dodik was elected by the people, and pointed out his commitment to solving problems peacefully.
On the morning of August 6, the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina made a unanimous decision to annul Dodik's mandate and call early elections. The Bosnian authorities decided to revoke the mandate after the decision of the Court of appeal, which upheld the February verdict of the politician. Then he was sentenced to a year in prison and deprived of the right to hold public office for six years.
The President of Republika Srpska has stated that he does not intend to leave his post and the territory of the republic. He initiated a referendum, in which, according to him, the people will express their will regarding his mandate and the further exercise of presidential powers.
