A court in Moscow has arrested a woman accused of murdering her newborn daughter.

A court has detained a woman accused of murdering her newborn daughter in Moscow. This was announced on August 8 by the press service of the city prosecutor's office.

"She has been charged under Article 106 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Murder of a newborn child by a mother")," the Telegram channel says.

It is specified that the body of a newborn child was discovered on June 1, 2025 in the dormitory toilet on General Dorokhov Street. The forensic medical examination established that the cause of death was asphyxia as a result of drowning.

At the moment, the prosecutor's office is continuing the investigation.

The incident became known on August 6. Then it was reported that the mother of the newborn during the interrogation fully admitted her guilt.
