The Russian government has written off more than 29 billion rubles of debt from 12 regions of the country that have modernized housing and communal services. This was announced on August 8 by the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers.
"The Republic of Komi, Mordovia, Chuvashia, Krasnodar Territory, Arkhangelsk, Volgograd, Ivanovo, Nizhny Novgorod, Omsk, Tambov, Tula and Ulyanovsk regions have received the opportunity to write off up to two thirds of the debt on budget loans totaling more than 29 billion rubles," the government's Telegram channel says.
It is noted that the amount of write-off corresponds to the amount of investments made by these regions in the modernization of housing and communal services, the renovation of public transport, the implementation of new investment projects, the development of support settlements and other projects.
On July 14, the Russian government approved the possibility of writing off up to two-thirds of budget loan debt totaling 42.7 billion rubles to Russian regions this year. It was clarified that the amount of the write-off would correspond to the amount of funds that were allocated by these regions to implement measures in the social and economic spheres.
