The FSB showed footage of the detention of a cell of a terrorist organization in Moscow

In Moscow, employees of the Federal Security Service (FSB) stopped the activities of a cell of the international terrorist organization (ITO) banned in Russia, which included nine foreign citizens. Footage of the detention was shown by the FSB Public Relations Center.

It is specified that the attackers recruited migrant workers into a terrorist organization. At the same time, they were coordinated by the ideologists of the ITO located in the territory of the European Union (EU).

"In the process of secret meetings, including through videoconferencing in the Telegram messenger, they were systematically trained based on the doctrine of creating the so—called world caliphate, and involved in the active activities of the terrorist organization," the message says.

At the moment, law enforcement officers are continuing operational search activities.

The detention of foreign citizens became known earlier in the day. Propaganda materials of the MTO, communication facilities and electronic media containing information about the organization's activities were seized at the places of residence of the attackers. Criminal cases have been initiated under Part 1 of Article 205.5 ("Organization of the activities of a terrorist organization and participation in the activities of such an organization") of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
