The Taiga Airline plane, which was traveling in the direction of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk – Sovetskaya Gavan, urgently returned to the departure airport due to a malfunction. This was announced on August 8 by the press service of the Far Eastern Transport Prosecutor's Office.

"Today, a DHC-6-400 aircraft operating a flight from Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk to Sovetskaya Gavan operated by Taiga Airlines made an emergency landing at the departure airport due to technical malfunctions," the agency's Telegram channel said.

It is specified that some time after takeoff, the crew discovered a malfunction in the aircraft, as a result, it was decided to return the aircraft. There were 14 passengers on board at the time, including four minors. The landing was successful. There are no casualties or damage to the vessel.

The agency added that as a result of this incident, an inspection was organized to ensure compliance with flight safety requirements.

The day before, the plane, which was en route from Moscow to Sochi, made an unscheduled landing in Astrakhan. Previously, the reason for the emergency landing was traces of smoke in one of the baggage compartments, they were revealed as a result of an inspection of the aircraft at Astrakhan airport. Later, the transport prosecutor's office organized an inspection.
