Scammers have come up with a new two-step scheme to deceive Russians with a call from an alleged employee of Roskomnadzor. This became known on August 8.

As the RIA Novosti news agency reported, the scammers began calling Russians allegedly from a flower delivery service, demanding an SMS code to confirm the order. However, this procedure is interrupted by a call from an alleged Roskomnadzor employee.

He is already offering to return access to the Gosuslugi portal and withdraw the application for a microloan. At the time of the dialogue with the fraudster, a code is received, which subsequently opens access to your personal data.

Earlier, on August 6, they warned about the theft of personal data by fraudsters using phishing resources created on the Internet that mimic the websites of city morgues. The Interior Ministry added that scammers can create such resources repeatedly, so it is better not to respond to "urgent requests" for personal data — phishing sites deliberately create a false sense of the need for urgent application processing.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
