Bloomberg has learned about the termination of Tesla's work on the Dojo supercomputer
Owned by American billionaire Elon Musk, Tesla has decided to disband its Dojo supercomputer team. This was reported on August 8 by Bloomberg, citing sources.
"Peter Bannon, who headed Dojo, is leaving, and CEO Elon Musk ordered the closure of the project...> Recently, the team lost about 20 employees who left for the new company DensityAI, and the remaining Dojo employees are being transferred to other data centers and computing projects at Tesla," the publication says.
It is noted that the termination of work on the project will "negate" Tesla's efforts to develop its own chips for unmanned technologies.
Earlier, on August 4, Tesla approved the payment of a $29.6 billion share bonus to CEO Elon Musk. The company also said that such a large premium would help keep Musk at Tesla.
On July 23, Musk warned that the company expects several difficult economic quarters due to deteriorating economic performance. According to the billionaire, his company will be able to achieve "confident" economic performance only by the end of 2026.
