The US administration has cancelled former President Joe Biden's $7 billion fund for solar energy for the poor. This was announced on August 7 by the head of the Environmental Protection Agency, Lee Zeldin.

"Today, the Environmental Protection Agency under [US President Donald] Trump announces that we are finally closing the Solar Energy for All program," he wrote on the social network X.

Zeldin noted that the Environmental protection agency has lost its legal authority to administer a project aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Earlier, on March 4, it was reported that Ireland faces a multibillion-dollar fine if it does not reduce greenhouse gas emissions. It is noted that the country is obliged to meet the EU's climate requirements by 2030 or pay up to €26 billion.
