The culture of communication on the Internet varies depending on the generation. About why it's better not to use emoticons when communicating with people from Generation Z, August 7, Gazeta.Ru" told psychologist Natalia Naumova.

She noted it. that the so—called "buzzers" perceive these designations as trolling, a social and communicative provocation to violate the ethics of communication.

"Generation Z uses more figurative meanings of emoticons. An ordinary smiley face with a laugh will be perceived as some kind of mockery...> Even among zoomers, there are people who put [different meanings] into the same smiley face," Naumova explained.

This is due to the fact that people from generation Z, according to the psychologist, feel and understand the emotional background around them very well. The use of some symbols may simply have a different interpretation for zoomers.

The expert also noted that people of this generation consider some symbols in Internet correspondence to be outdated, for example, dots, parentheses, and some kind of emoticons.

The psychologist recommended that you not use emoticons in your correspondence at first and get to know the person better. Only this one will help you understand which emoticons and symbols are best used in online communication.

Earlier that day, psychologist Evgeny Idzikovsky told why zoomers listen to songs by Nadezhda Kadysheva and Tatiana Bulanova. He noted that the main reason for the sudden fascination of zoomers with the songs of pop artists of previous years is viral videos on social networks.
