- The WSJ reported on the US sending migrants to the most brutal prison in the state of Angola
The administration of US President Donald Trump plans to send detained migrants to a prison in the Louisiana state of Angola, which is known for its mistreatment of prisoners. This was reported on August 7 by the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) newspaper, citing sources.
"The Trump administration plans to place detained immigrants in a notorious prison in Louisiana, which is the latest attempt to adapt to immigration repression and draw attention to them," the publication said.
It is noted that 450 beds will be allocated for migrants.
The newspaper added that the prison in Angola is the largest maximum security facility in the United States. The place is famous for the prison rodeo with prisoner competitions.
Earlier, on August 5, it was reported that the creation of The Speedway Slammer prison is planned in Indiana, which will become an expanded analogue of the Alcatraz Alligator. It is noted that some of the illegal criminals will also be in custody there. United States Secretary of Homeland Security Kristy Noem, in turn, said that the creation of The Speedway Slammer would significantly strengthen the fight against illegal migrants living in the country.
