Activists of the Young Guard of United Russia handed over humanitarian aid to residents of the settlements of Kurakhovka and Ilyinka in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). This was reported by Izvestia on August 7.

"We came with the Young Guard to the village of Kurakhovka <...> People continue to live here after liberation and joining the Russian Federation. About 200 people currently live in the village and several shops are operating," said Evgeny Bykovsky, a correspondent for Izvestia.

Residents of the villages continue to need humanitarian supplies. Currently, there is no light or water supply in the village. In this regard, the delivery of food and drinking water is a top priority.

"Today we are in the Kurakhovsky municipal district. There is a lot of humanitarian aid going to Kurakhovo itself, but it does not reach the surrounding small settlements. And there are many civilians in such villages, mostly pensioners," said Sergei Dobrovolsky, head of the Young Guard in the DPR.

Residents of the villages also need medicines, fuel for generators and barrels for storing large volumes of water.

According to local residents, there are currently not many residents left in Kurakhovka — a significant part have left the fighting. However, those who remain continue to help each other.

Earlier, on July 18, volunteers from the Movement of the First delivered a shipment of humanitarian aid for children to the city of Kurakhovo. Denis Chernobai, chairman of the organization, noted that there are 11 families with children in the city who refuse to leave their homes. According to him, the settlement is gradually returning to a peaceful life — there is already light and communication, the issue with the Internet is being resolved.
