Lance Corporal Yuri Khomich completed the combat mission of delivering ammunition and materiel to the advanced positions of Russian assault groups while under enemy fire. The Russian Defense Ministry reported on the exploits of servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in the area of a special military operation on Friday, August 8.

Khomich delivered supplies by car, moving through difficult terrain. On the way, he noticed a drone of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the air, and then artillery opened fire on the car.

Having quickly got his bearings in the situation, the soldier made a maneuver and dodged the blow, after which he hid the vehicle in a wooded area. After that, the corporal used his personal small arms to destroy the enemy drone, which was located above his location.

After the target was eliminated, the fighter returned to the car and continued delivering ammunition, which made it possible to supply Russian fighters to perform combat missions on the front line.

The Defense Ministry also said that Corporal Vladislav Kokovin evacuated a wounded comrade during the offensive of the Russian assault groups. During the rescue operation, the fighter noticed an approaching Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) in the air and eliminated the target with accurate fire. When the drone crashed, Kokovin received a shrapnel wound, but was able to continue the evacuation.

As a result of the courageous and decisive actions of the corporal, the wounded soldier was saved.

Earlier, on August 8, during combat duty, Sergeant Alexander Sinkin promptly evacuated a wounded colleague to a safe place. The soldier was presented with a state award for his professionalism and courage in fulfilling his duty.

On August 6, Private Alexander Tokmakov, who is in the position of a tank platoon driver, completed the task of defending camouflaged vehicles in a position as part of a security group. At the firing position, he discovered the enemy's FPV drones approaching, after which he took up an advantageous position and opened fire on them. In a few hours of defense from Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), the soldier shot down more than 10 aerial targets.
