Russian swimmers shared their impressions of the Winter swimming competition in Argentina

Russian swimmers who won gold at the World Cup (KM) in winter open water swimming in Argentina shared their impressions on August 7.

"We are proud and happy that we were able to provide serious competition. Guys Alexey, Mark, Pavel, <...> all showed excellent results. The top ones, so to speak. Of course, they cannot be considered records, because the rules of open water. But the guys jumped over their heads," Andrey Zamyslov, president of the All—Russian Winter Swimming Federation, told Izvestia.

Alexey Zharkov, the gold medalist of the Cup, said that the residents of Argentina welcomed the Russian team very warmly.

"We all miss international startups, of course, we miss it very much, and due to this, I think we are getting such results," Zharkov said.

The athletes added that they dedicate their victories to the country, as well as to their relatives and friends.

It is noted that athletes from Russia currently have 20 medals per KM in winter swimming. Among them are 13 gold, two silver and five bronze medals.

The competition is supported by the Russian House in Buenos Aires and will last until Saturday.

Earlier, on August 4, Russian swimmer Kliment Kolesnikov, who won a gold medal at the World Aquatics Championships in Singapore, spoke about his impressions of the competition. He noted that when he saw his result exceeding his expectations, the swimmer was very happy.

On August 3, Kolesnikov won the gold medal in the 50 m backstroke. The Russian became the world champion with a score of 23.68 seconds and set a World Cup record.
